Situated in one of the most attractive unspoilt villages in Perthshire and yet within easy driving distance (under an hour) of Glasgow or Edinburgh international airports, the guest house is ideally located for access to the beautiful countryside of Perthshire.

The world famous Gleneagles Hotel and Golf Complex is situated only five miles away and there are upwards of twenty golf courses within a thirty minute drive radius of the Almar Guest House. Fishing and Shooting facilities are also available locally and permits can be obtained if required.

There are three well-furnished bedrooms with one offering full en-suite facilities. All rooms have a Colour TV and Tea/Coffee making facilities. The en-suite room is also designated as a family room and can be booked at a very reasonable rate. Using all available rooms parties of up to 7 can be accommodated which makes the guest house ideal for fishing, golfing or walking parties, for which discounted room rates are offered.

The many and varied leisure and sporting activities in the area include:

  • walking – there are many designated countryside walks in the area or if more strenuous activity is required, the hills and mountains of the Highlands are within easy driving distance.
  • golfing – Dunning's par 66, 9-hole golf course is only a two minutes walk from the hotel or if more testing courses are required. Whitemoss (Par 72), Auchterarder (Par 70) or the Gleneagles Golfing Complex are all situated nearby.
  • fishing – the river Earn, for which daily fishing permits can be obtained, is a matter of minutes away and there are also a few local fisheries nearby where trout fishing can be undertaken at reasonable cost.
  • bowling
  • shooting
  • horse riding
